Storyboard
In de '9 dagen van de gier' speelt een gier een nogal substantiële rol. In 1999 was de kennis en mogelijkheden op het gebied van digitale visuele effecten nogal beperkt. Voorafgaand aan het draaien moest er uitgezocht worden hoeveel visual FX er in de serie zitten en hoe we deze moeten aanpakken. In samenwerking met Rolof de Jeu (die werkte voor 50FPS, wat nu Filmmore heet) heb we toen een storyboard gemaakt van alle fx scènes. Enkele voorbeelden zijn hieronder te zien. De gierscènes waren opgedeeld in drieën: A) De gier op locatie in Rotterdam (waar enkel de zekerheidsriem weggepoets moest worden) B) De gier volledig als visual FX (3D model dat in de beelden gecomposit werd) C) De gier die we in Frankrijk hebben opgenomen tegen de lucht of thene een groen scherm (in een veilige, onbevolkte omgeving) en die later ook in de beelden gecomposit werd.
In the televisionseries 'the 9 In the days of the vulture' a vulture plays a fairly substantial role. Before the shoot - in 1999- the knowledge and capabilities in the field of digital visual effects were rather limited. Prior to the shoot we had to make an estimate how many visual FX we needed in the episodes, and how we should accomplish them. In collaboration with Rolf de Jeu (who worked at that time for 50fps, which is now called FilmMore) we made a storyboard of all fx scenes. A selection is shown below. The vulture scenes were divided into three parts: A) Thevulture on location in Rotterdam (where only the securitybelt had to be removed) B) The vulture fully animated in 3D (the 3D model had to be composite in the images) C) The vulture we shot in France against the sky or greenscreen (in a safe, uncrowded environment) and later also .
